  1. Do I need to bring a climbing partner, or is there other option?
We have two types of climbing. Rope Climbing will require a partner to belay for you when you climb.
Bouldering can be climbed solo without a partner.

 2. Lead Climbing Policy?

You need to climb at a minimum difficulty of 5.9 and take our lead class, or show proof of lead climbing certification from another gym.

3. Membership freeze policy?

Three and six-month memberships can be frozen once, for a minimum of seven days and a maximum of two months.
Annual Memberships can be frozen three times.
Each membership must have at least seven days remaining for it to be eligible for a freeze.

4. What type of climbing do you have at Climbmax?
We have around 170 bouldering problems, 100 top rope routes, and 50 lead climbing routes at any given time. Our tallest walls are around 30 feet, and we also have a second floor that is entirely dedicated to bouldering.
Our bouldering facility is the largest in Arizona.

5. What is the difference between bouldering, rope climbing and lead climbing?

Bouldering is climbing done on relatively low rocks, or “boulders”.  Climbers who boulder don’t use rope or partner.
Rope climbing is for taller climbing wall, you need to tie into a climbing rope & have a partner to managing the rope for you.
Lead climbing is a style of climbing in which the rope is NOT tied in up top for you. The climber brings the rope with them when they climb, and they “Clip In” to carabiners that are provided throughout the route. This is for experienced climbers.

6. It's my first time climbing, what should I wear?

Just comfortable, loose clothing.Your clothes need to fit under a snug harness.
Kids can wear athletic shoes on the wall.

7.Do I need to be strong to try climbing?
Climbing is very much a mental sport. The best climbers tend to study a route and visualize the movement and climbing sequence before moving a muscle.
But, the most important thing you need to climb is the desire to have fun!

8.What is belaying?
Belaying is the process of managing the climber's rope. As the climber ascends, the belayer takes up slack in the rope.
This is done with a “belay” device, the belayer can stop the rope and catch the fall.

9. Is there someone available who can belay for my group?
Yes, you can hire our staff to help out,
Hourly rate for belay one person is $25. (For belaying two persons per hour is $30.)

Reservations & pre-paid is required.
